Nitro Sunset - VR Arcade

Nitro Sunset is the result of an in-depth research project on the history of arcades and arcade racing games in particular.

The experience puts the player into a room with various factors that closely follow the experience of original arcades of the golden age. All of the references herein focus on the american market of the late 70s and early 80s.

This project was a solo endevour, based on gameplay and sorroundings of original arcades. This was built without a budget and in a span of approximately 7 weeks, excluding general research.

This experience is to be played using a VR HMD (Headset), preferebly an meta Quest2. See more instructions on downloading and using the file in the download instructions.

CONTROLS

This is also explained on a poster within the experience, to the right of the machine.

To play on the VR arcade machine, simply grab the point you want to interact with, this could be a button or either side of the steering wheel, using the grab-button (middle finger). Then, while holding your middle finger down, also press the trigger-button (index finger) to activate the corellating function in game. You can let go of the grab button, whenever you want to stop using the grabbed object.
